Carcinize builds Modyl: decision rooms where agents call your team in and humans settle the work.

Minsky inspired me as a kid and I've returned to his work my whole career. Now that agents can talk and listen, the working paper on what he missed about coordination is public, corrections included.

BASIT MUSTAFA · FOUNDER

IBM · 2000s

I've been building software and hardware since I was a kid: assembly and C on microcontrollers, into the Linux kernel back when it was pre-1.0, then client-server systems through the birth of the cloud and Kubernetes fresh out of Borg. Enterprise scale too: nearly a decade at IBM across technology, management, and sales, including the Federal Reserve's Check 21 program.

Voltaire · 2014

In 2014 I founded Voltaire and wrote every line of V1: AI jury-selection software that trial lawyers used in live courtrooms, real decisions on real deadlines, before attention was all we needed. Then I co-founded an ATS on early NLP for government-contracting and cleared hiring, just as the first transformers arrived.

PSCI · →2026

At Procurement Sciences, as Chief Product & Technology Officer and later Chief Innovation Officer, I was responsible for technology, product, and infrastructure, along with security and compliance. We grew it from a handful of users to most of the largest U.S. government contractors. All of it sharpened a conviction I'd had from the start.

Carcinize · Now

In April 2026 I left to build on it myself.

The model is rarely the limit anymore. What holds us back is how we work with it: how it joins the room, takes real context, and carries the work forward. That's a harder, less flashy problem than a smarter chatbot or a better agent. It's the one I care about, and the one I left to work on.
01

Writing C since age 4; my father is one of the people who made the immigrant-dad stereotype what it is

02

IBM: nearly a decade across divisions: tech, sales; M&A in the office of the CFO

03

Voltaire: founded 2014; wrote every line of V1; profitable

04

Procurement Sciences: Chief Product & Technology Officer → Chief Innovation Officer; seed → $30M Series B; FedRAMP, CMMC 2, SOC 2, no findings

WHAT WE BUILD

01
ModylModyl is a live decision room: agents call your team in, you talk, and the work forms on screen as you speak. Every claim opens to its source. AI work stays visibly tentative until someone with authority says settled, and the settled record, the why included, becomes the organization's memory and the agents'.

Status: the v1.0.0 engine works. Rooms are hand-run with design partners today. Next: a gated alpha with pre-registered success and kill criteria, published before we recruit. Not yet: public release, self-serve access, or revenue.
